Hello fellow friends. How you all doing? Sorry I have not written in a number of sunny days. That's because we havnt had too many sunny days lately. Apparently we are going to have a wet summer or so I have heard. Its apparently part of the weather cycle we are entering into. Now that's going to be interesting to see. The weather reports are never all that reliable anyhow so its going to be a surprise..... Yes, we will be surprised when they say 80 % rain and it hardly even drizzles and a surprise the days they say a nice clear summers day and there is a huge down pour. If you live in the far south you know not to take to much notice of what is said because you can leave home with a huge woollie jersey because of the black south easter and get into Cape Town centre and its stifling hot. Do you remember those days that there were gale force winds on the foreshore and on the front page of the newspaper in the evening there would be photos of woman hanging onto street posts to stop themselves been blown into the sea. We don't see that much anymore as more building have gone up and the wind tunnels of open spaces have become less and less,
Then there is the other side of the story after a long hot working day in town, you head to the station in central Cape Town and all the way home you build the dream of a early evening swim or walk on the beach when you get home. You can almost smell the sea and imagine the ideal setting and when you get there you are met, yes you guessed it, by gale force winds and the swim is now in the past. We used to say Fish Hoek was wrongly named and that it should have been called Windhoek.
Ok, enough chit chat or maybe I should say small talk about the weather. Enjoy tomorrow being the first day of the working week and whatever the weather, celebrate life. Life is far to short to be miserable. Till next time, keep smiling.
Rose.
